Celebrating 1 billion downloads with YouVersion
Bringing some faith, art, and justice to one of the world's biggest app
Over at Unveil we’ve been working away at creating some new content for YouVersion. We’re official content partners with the platform which will celebrate its 1 billionth download this Fall.
How amazing is that?!
We’re grateful for how the platform connects people around the world to scripture and is a tool used to build people up in their faith. To celebrate, they’ve invited us and other content partners to release 30-day plans for a month-long celebration of faith and scripture starting in November.
Today I wanted to give you a glimpse of the plan we’re releasing, entitled Fighting Injustice with Art + Faith.
Read to the end to get a first-look at a few of the other plans we’re making available in 2025.
Day 29 of Fighting Injustice with Art + Faith
Scriptures: Deuteronomy 32:9; Luke 8:7
Devotional Content
From the Old Testament to the New Testament, the great story of God reveals that He is a God of justice.
Justice is an essential aspect of the nature and character of God. He rules with justice; His just nature is never separated from His faithful or loving character.
God wants us to persist in prayer, petitioning for justice. He willingly responds to our prayers. We must be persistent and have faith.
A vision of a world without injustice
See, the home of God is among mortals.
He will dwell with them;
they will be his peoples,
and God himself will be with them;
he will wipe every tear from their eyes.
Death will be no more;
mourning and crying and pain will be no more,
for the first things have passed away.
And the one who was seated on the throne said, “See, I am making all things new.”
~ Revelation 21:3-5, NRSV
Justice is the world aright – it is the upholding of the law and will of God. It is completely intertwined into God’s nature. It is what is right and righteous, and it is mercy, holiness, judgment.
It is not a catchphrase or a bandwagon to jump on, made popular in our times by celebrities and organizations. It comes from the heart of God and always has.
It ultimately is an alignment and agreement with God, who is love, and his original purpose for the world.
Because the kingdom is here and is coming, this is the way we must walk. It is the way we create and engage the world.
Action Point:
Take a moment to imagine the kingdom of God coming it its fullness. How does that future, inevitable reality inspire you today? Find a way to pull that reality into your day today, through a creative act or a loving gesture to someone in your life.

Other Plans from Unveil coming to YouVersion
Train Up A Child: Social Media
What would God say about you if he had a social media account? What kind of comment would he leave? This series is adapted from writer Andrew Kooman's entertaining plays used by churches all across North America. It includes God and Google, If God Had a TikTok Account, The Art of the Unfollow, and the Holy Spirit is Greater than AI. This Plan will remind your family what God says about you and spark hope in your hearts.
Write Out the Psalms
Transcribing the Psalms (writing them out by hand) is an effective way to quiet the heart and focus the mind. Join writer Andrew Kooman as he writes out the big one, Psalm 119, verse by verse. The plan asks surprising Qs, like: Can I be confident in my walk with God? Do I have to park my brain on the roadside of faith? How can I meditate and pray like David? Each day there's an invitation to write out a portion and glean truths that will transform you.
A Very Matthew Christmas
The disciples didn’t expect a God they would call by name, a God who would sleep beside them in the night to keep warm, a God susceptible to lice and heat rash. In this 5-day plan, the Gospel Writer Matthew shares the surprises and meaning of seeing the Messiah up close. Brought to you by Unveil Studios' Andrew Kooman, unveil fresh revelation and wonder this Christmas by experiencing Advent through Matthew's eyes.
