As a parent of young kids, every night requires a bedtime story. It’s a special time of connection, filled with imagination. Dinosaurs, princesses, impossible adventures and gravity-defying feats are the norm. And that’s before the Bible story.
But I have a confession.
Sometimes I bring performances that could garner Oscar nominations. My heart is all-in. And sometimes I’m like Calvin’s dad from the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes dreading another reading of Hamster Huey and the Gooey Kablooie.
Can anyone relate?
I decided to write the kind of book I want to read to my kids at night. I’m thrilled to share POPCORN HELMET with you— the first in a series of books featuring Ramsey P. Heaton, future billionaire.
I teamed up with illustrator J.E. Serait, whose beautifully unique artwork you've seen on my Substack, to create the memorable character and story.
Synopsis:
When Ms. Spickle challenges the class to come up with an idea that will change the world, Ramsey P. Heaton finally has a billion-dollar concept.
But will it earn him a passing grade? And, more importantly, does Ramsey bring enough butter?

If you have the honour of reading to kids, I know you’ll love this book. It’ll bring some fun and some laughter to story-time.
So if you’re a parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle, a babysitter, godparent, friend of families with kids, teacher or school leader, this book is for you and a great gift for someone in your life.
